As this thread is geared towards 20s, I'll be brief and resist the urge to promote my bracket. Basically, until now, the higher level you were the less powerful compared to mobs of your level you were. Compare a level 10 trying not to solo an entire WoD dungeon and a level 60 clearing one trash...
I've looked at it in-depth. The sweet spot for stats remaining the same is level 42/43. Above that, stats increase, below that they're decreasing. I welcome the rebalancing. Gonna make soloing at 30 more interesting maybe.
From a quick WoWhead look yesterday: 10s get a quite hefty stat decrease. How non-OP they will be after this... hard to say, really. One will have to hop on a PTR version and try it out.
I get that, I'm up to date with the numbers and all. What I'm saying is, that - despite the ilvl increase - the final stat numbers are lower across the board. Edit: Actually, hold on. Let me check something first. --- Alright I get it. This makes absolute sense.
I'm still a bit confused by it all. The initial developer note talked about how they wanted to make levelling easier (for whatever reason it hasn't been easy enough, maybe it's because I died to furbolgs in Ashenvale once on a shaman, idk), but all the visible changes so far do little beyond...
The underlying issue is a bug with damage calculation while being seated on a multi-person mount. This has been an issue since... 10.2.6 I believe. Maybe with 10.2.7 it will get fixed.
That is fair. Still, all in all ill-fated try to make legacy crafting relevant is my point. It lacked in execution and I hope the idea gets another chance instead of crafting being an afterthought while leveling.
Let's be real, nobody used those relics. Maybe, just maybe, they'll use the chance to retool them into reagents that scale the item to the crafter's level, but if they didn't do it back in SL, it was probably impossible for technical reasons.
I looked into it some more and the rescaling als applies to raid items although they seem to be at a (depending on raid tier) higher ilvl than epic dungeonq procs or wf items. But that not applicable to 20s anyway, so scratch that.
This makes no sense and can't be final. Raise the itemlevel but...
You make a good point, but... you know. Found it at this Wowhead news post. That's what makes me worried/hopeful/curious. Edit: My favourite part is "leveling content should feel easier".
It's only hearsay since I didn't see it myself, but there was mention of a screenshot in the 30s Discord showing ilvl 145 instead of 115 (analogue to ilvl 87 for 20s) and the patchnotes developer notes did mention an ilvl increase across the board. 115 to 145 is kinda insane since it's roughly a...
I may not play 20s, but it applies to all brackets anyway: What I'm really curious about is the ilvl increase that is mentioned peripherally, because levelling still is too hard. Anyone have information on that? Like do all items just increase in ilvl or do we have to refarm or does it only...
