XMog-question

I don't believe Moggin' binds the "look-donating" item to you, so I believe your plan would work in that regard. BUT, I believe that because of the weirdness of certain BoA's armor type, you might not be able to do that.

I tried that first week mogging came out. It's not possible because the spaulders are classed as plate. While we can in fact equip them and they simply change to mail, while trying to transmog we get an error something like 'you must be able to equip an item to use its appearance.' :(

hmmm, so no for mail and plate, but yes for cloth and leather? :)

No for plate, yes for cloth, leather and mail. :)
Mogged Aged Pauldrons of The Five Thunders into Prized Beastmaster's Mantle with no problem.

While you can TM the BoAs, using an item to change another item's appearance does infact bind it to you. I haven't tested whether or not BoAs are an exception to this rule or not though. Interestingly, when I recently TM a dungeon drop, it still had the blue text that says it can still be traded. If you try to TM a non SB item, it will bind it to you.

You will be unable to mog plate boas into other plate boas since while you wear them below 40 they classify as mail. In your inventory however they classify as plate so they are not moggable. The same situation will occur with hunter and shaman mail boas. Mail wearing classes will be able to mog the mail boas just fine. But warriors with hunter boas and paladins with shaman shoulders are just not as good as the appropriate boas

What he wanted to know was whether or not they'd be refundable after being used for TM. That's the part I haven't personally tested.

I tryed this sometime ago, as soon as you get ready to transmog them, a message will appear saying they wont be refundable after you use them for transmog, so to answer the op no you would not be able to sell them back afterwards

Yes, but what is supposed to happen, and what actually happens, aren't always the same thing in this game.

I skimmed, too, :/

I have tested the mogging, but I kept the shoulders, so I don't know if they were refundable or not.
