Mass of McGowan x2 is STRONGLY suggested simply because in some cases it outshines Shadowfang x2. Goblin Screwdriver has a nice agil bonus but it's damage is not nearly as significant as mass of mcgowan!

I do believe you said for -Ambush- correct? Which gets a damage bonus from daggers?

Impish Blade - Largest Damage Range, 1.80 attack speed would be best for your Ambush imo.

impish is good, but Sharpened Scarlet Kris received a slight stat boost at 19 recently giving it the highest topend of daggers attainable at our level. It's super effective=)

I've never really thought about that because I've had "At least one dagger required" burned into my skull when it came to Rogues.

Venerable Mass of McGowan is slower than Shadowfang and typically has higher white his. Also you can put weapon chains on your BoA Maces if you're into that kind of thing
Dal'Rends is also a fantastic option besides Shadowfang.

The deal with ambushing with a dagger is that you lose a lot on your white hits which can really add up.

It all depends really.. That's what's so great about twinking right now. There's so much viable and worthwhile gearsets and variety to be used. I almost exclusively use dagger mainhand for when FCs have 4+ stacks, but for just running around, SF mainhand or Mass (if you don't have SF) is also really good.
In reality, there is no "bis" nowadays, because so many playstyles are equally viable.
