Assassination Rogue Question!

Maybe, I'm not really sure. Assa with SF talent is damn nice....soo much energy! Even if its not hitting thaat hard, it's something else nicely to play! <3

I'm running numbers regarding combat vs assa. By the looks of numbers so far, combat is more dominant.
Assuming my calculations so far are correct, Assa burst opening (Ambush +2x Mutilates, SF talented) should do roughly 1.6k damage within a span of 2 seconds, noncrit, mitigated by armor. After which you can do around 400 damage Envenom (5 points) and then the damage trails off, due to lower energy regen, high Mutilate cost and daggers not hitting as hard in white hits as a sword.

Yeah, due to combat potency just by itself, I believe combat stands head and shoulders above the other two specs.

Would the best Rogue burst damage be from a Subtlety Orc? considering the Agility increase from the specialization, and the Attack Power increase from Orc racial.

i have a question/thought regarding the weapons we should use and what should be stack.

Now my main question is on what daggers we should use. There are different options we could chose,

ToV + WsG dagger or 2x ToV would most likely be BiS for f2p
ToV + Goblin Screwdriver for vet
ToV + BvB for 21+ rogues

So have ya'll consulted this thread in asking these questions?

Accordingly MH Vultros OH WSG Dagger for Assassination or Subtlety Rogue

And as for stats has 6.2 brought about any major changes? if not, then main stat should outweight crit / haste with weighting as follows:
Main stat>multistrikehaste>crit

Can people stop linking this thread, I think everyone has seen it a million times

The thread says 2x ToV is BiS, while this may be SLIGHTLY better in terms of mutilate, the off hand damage is so little it's almost irrelevant. WsG dagger has a much faster speed and the same amount of agility, therefore as a f2p you're going to get a lot more crippling poison and deadly poison procs.

The thread says Deadly Heartseeker is maximum white damage for off hand, this doesn't make it worth using though because of the lower amount of agility which affects your mainhand (where most your DPS comes from)

You're stat prioritization is HORRIBLE and shows how little you know about rogues

It should be:
Agility > Vers > crit > haste
EDIT: 1 agi > 4 crit

You shouldn't even consider having ANY multistrike enchants
Rogues are about the maximum amount of burst you can shell out in a small time frame, haste is good DPS in the long run but its absolutely useless in a small time frame.

I did some math on multistrike a while back and found out it's the worst 'gift of' enchant to get DPS wise, there is absolutely no reason to use it whatsoever.

Using math to show what has the highest DPS possible has no benefit for a rogue, rogues are about burst

EDIT: Also, combat > assa despite the recent buffs

We all know combat is the best spec and I predict it will be for quite a while at least in terms of F2P.

Assassination is VIABLE now, doesn't really mean it's good. I think people just think it's nice to see a bit of a change.

Daggers >>> Swords in terms of "feel" for a rogue.

I'll always switch to combat if things get cereal.

Assassin's Blades for $w4g.

I only played combat at 90 for about a year in MoP and I've only dabbled with the class in the 20s bracket. I will freely admit that I know little about the class in comparison to veterans of the class; that being said, would a sub rogue stacking multistrike and crit to get as many ele force procs as possible off of the two dots that the spec gets at this level be completely worthless? I've been building a sub rogue with the aforementioned build in mind. I like the idea of leaving behind powerful dots on classes with more mobility because swiftness pots do not cure a rogue's mobility entirely. Sorry to go a bit off-topic as this question does not relate to assassination at all.
