Active Subscriptions:
With an active subscription there are many ways to "renew" your subscription. you can use in-game gold, credit cards, pay-pal, & battle.net balance to buy wow tokens/game time/battle.net balance or 1, 2, 3, & 6 month subscription services via (real money).
F2P/Veteran/In-active Subscription: (2 ways)
The only ways to renew a lapsed wow subscription "free" or create a new subscription "free" at this time is to purchase the 2 months game time via the battle.net store or to use in-game gold with enough currency to purchase a wow token.
All other methods require an active subscription or the use of local and/or global currencies in some way.
Remember to please use your own due-diligence whenever it comes to online purchases, to both find and navigate to a website to make purchases. I'd recommend using the official blizzard launcher to navigate get to the official blizzard store, and not to trust random links you find on the internet.

At the current time: due to the gold cap limits and maximum character limits on a pure F2P account, you cannot afford a wow token under any circumstance at this time, via in-game methods. This includes across all regions (the cheapest token is 100k+gold & the max F2P gold per realm is 60k gold). Without assistance from an active account or a veteran account stockpiling gold or battle.net balance to you in some way, a 60 day subscription or expansion bundle with game time... is out of the question.
The following are the only 2 ways to subscribe "100% free for you" on a pure F2P account.
1). Sell some type of service to someone else, and be compensated in some way with a gifted subscription.
2). Use an active/veteran accounts in-game gold, converted into battle.net balance, and gift a 2-month sub or expansion bundle with game time included to the F2P account.
Hopefully this helps someone from having to fork out real money to play wow.
Included below are some pictures of the 2-month sub pages as of 07/04/2023, this is the only subscription method outside of an active subscription with wow tokens and expansion bundles, that can use Battle.net balance for game time. It's also cheaper to convert gold to blizzard balance during expansion down times, when tokens are cheaper than to use wow tokens exclusively every month to get more game time.
